Basic Keelboat Sailing 101

Description
Learn to Sail with Seaforth! This two-day introductory course teaches students the basics of sailing through the curriculum of the American Sailing Association. Students are taught on a Capri 22’ in moderate wind and sea conditions in San Diego Bay or Mission Bay. A preparatory standard and prerequisite class for future ASA classes.

Prerequisites: None
Reading Material: Sailing Made Easy by ASA
Description: A two-day course starting at 9am and ending at 3pm both days. Students learn to sail a Capri 22’ in moderate wind and sea conditions in San Diego Bay. A preparatory standard with no navigation skills required. This is a prerequisite for further sailing classes. At the end of this class, you will be certified to rent and sail up to our 26ft fleet in our fleet.

Free for members of our Sailing Club
$349 for non-members

Materials and Certification Costs:
$39- ASA certification fee will be added during student registration. This fee will be refunded if the student does not pass the curriculum.
The coursebook is “Sailing Made Easy” by ASA and students can purchase the book online or at our and Harbor Island locations for $24.95
ASA Logbook is highly recommend because that is where students expected to keep their certification. The logbook will be available to purchase before or during the course for $12.95.
