Question 51

How do I book a boat rental with Seaforth Boat Rental?

Accepted Answer

You can reserve your vessel online through our secure booking system or by calling our reservation team at 1-619-223-1681. Our real-time availability calendar allows you to select your preferred date, time, and location (Coronado, Downtown, Harbor Island, or Mission Bay). To complete your reservation, you will need a valid photo ID and a credit card.

Question 52

How far in advance should I book my rental?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance for summer weekends, though many of our vessels can be reserved as late as one hour before departure. Booking early ensures you get your preferred time slot and vessel type.

Question 53

Do you take walk-ins?

Accepted Answer

While we do accept walk-ins, we highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time to ensure your preferred rental will be available.

The majority of our prices are per boat, not per person. We also offer several tours that are priced per person.

Question 56

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Seaforth Boat Rental offers a full refund on most rentals and charters for any cancellations or changes made at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled reservation start date. Cancellations made within the 72-hour window are non-refundable, and "no-shows" will be charged the full rental amount. For specialty charters like the Party Cat, we require at least three days' notice for a cancellation to be eligible for a refund.

Question 57

Do I need to pay a security deposit?

Accepted Answer

Seaforth Boat Rental does not charge a separate security deposit. Instead, rentals are paid in full at the time of booking. While there is no upfront deposit fee, the credit card used for the reservation remains on file to cover any incidental damage or policy violations. This streamlined payment process ensures a faster check-in experience at the docks.

Question 58

Can I book now and pay later?

Accepted Answer

No, all reservations must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure your vessel and time slot. Because we manage a high volume of rentals across four locations, upfront payment is required to guarantee availability. However, our 72-hour cancellation policy provides flexibility if your plans change.

Question 59

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit and debit cards for online and phone reservations, and Apple Pay and Google Pay for online bookings. For your security, the cardholder must be present at check-in with a matching photo ID and the physical card used for the transaction. If you are renting a captain, please note that captain fees are typically handled separately via cash or Venmo.

Every individual who pays must present their card and a matching photo ID when arriving at the marina for check-in.

Question 62

How do I purchase or redeem a Seaforth Boat Rental gift card?
